How eligibility periods work
Each Canada Worker Lockdown Benefit (CWLB) eligibility period is a specific 1-week period. The CWLB is available for designated regions between October 24, 2021 and May 7, 2022.
If you meet all eligibility criteria, you can apply on the Monday after the first week your region is in a designated COVID-19 lockdown.
Apply for each week separately
The CWLB does not renew automatically. You must apply for each 1-week period separately. The application process is the same each time.
Number of weeks you can apply for
The government designates the number of weeks you can apply for each lockdown. If you are eligible, you may apply for all open periods during the designated lockdown in your region.
You may apply for any eligible 1-week period for up to 60 days after that period has ended.
Period start and end dates
Each 1-week period starts on a Sunday and ends on the following Saturday.
