Have a tax question? It might be one of these FAQs
Transcript
Now that we’re in tax season, you may have lots of questions.
To save you time, here are answers to some of the most common questions we get.
Number one: if I’m not making any money, should I still do my taxes?
Yes, absolutely. Whether your income is tax-exempt or if you have no income at all, you should still file a return.
Filing on time helps ensure you get the benefit and credit payments you could be eligible for.
Number two: How can I access my personal and tax info online?
Easily! Just sign in or register for a CRA account.
It’s your one-stop shop for updating your address and marital status, tracking your next benefit payment, and viewing tax information like your contribution limits or notices of assessment.
Number three: How do I sign up for direct deposit?
You can sign up through your financial institution or with your CRA account
Number four: What if I make a mistake on my tax return?
Don’t worry. If you made a mistake, you can easily fix it online with the certified tax software you used to do your taxes, or in your CRA account.
