Reporting to worksites: CRA and COVID-19

There are many factors to consider and discuss with your manager before you return to working at physical worksites, most importantly protecting your health and safety. While some employees may be returning to worksites sooner, the majority will continue to work remotely until at least the fall.

What to expect

Here are some of the measures the CRA has taken, the changes you will see when you return to a worksite, and guidance you should follow.

Preparing the worksite

As you enter the building, you will notice changes that have been implemented to ensure that the CRA’s worksites reflect public health authority recommendations and minimize risk to employees. Some of those changes include:

  • Cleaning protocols
  • Furniture re-arrangement
  • Signage

Cleaning protocols

We are ensuring our workplaces remain clean and safe by continuing an increased frequency of regular building cleaning and sanitization of high touch points.

  • Every employee is expected to clean their work surface before and after every shift with the cleaning supplies that are provided.
  • Common touch points are disinfected twice a day.
  • If a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 case is identified, the effected area will be cleaned and disinfected per guidance from public health authorities.
  • Increased frequency, additional areas or specific cleaning tasks may be requested by the CRA at any time.

Working at CRA worksites

When you are present in CRA worksites, you should adopt the following interaction and hygiene practices as recommended by public health authorities:

  • Be vigilant in practicing physical distancing
  • Wash your hands
  • Cover your mouth
  • Avoid handshakes
  • Avoid touching surfaces
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Be aware of your surroundings
  • Reduce your contact with high-touch surfaces where possible
  • Clean your individual workspace and shared areas, disposing of garbage

You should also:

  • Be open to changes in your workplace and work unit
  • Inform your manager of any concerns, suggestions, or promptly report an illness
  • Rest assured that you will be notified promptly of any suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases in worksites where you have been present
