If you get an error when you apply

You may get an error code while you are applying for the CRSB. Follow the instructions in the error message to resolve the issue.

If your application requires further validation, it may be because information is missing or we need additional documentation.

If you get code COV-058 when you apply

You may get this error if period 61 (November 21 to 27, 2021) or later is the first time you are applying for the CRSB. You will need to provide additional information to validate your application. You must call 1-800-717-7735 within 30 days to complete your application.

If you get code COV-049 when you apply

Your application may be delayed if you have an open EI benefit period with Service Canada.

The CRA will review your application to make sure you meet all the eligibility criteria and have not received EI payments for the same period. We will contact you if we need more information to complete your application.

If you are eligible, you will receive your benefit payment by the method you selected when you applied. It may take about 20 business days to process your application.

If you have not received your benefit payment after this time, you can contact the CRA.
